Zipperology

When you get a piece of material caught in a zip you're either a yanker or a fiddle about with it and dont rip anything..er.
There is no middle ground.
Yanker.
Fiddler.
Thats got to be a better way to segregate the world, rather than religion or money.

Home

Let's whip out the cliche.
Home is where the heart is.
But for me, one of the real feelings of home is the kitchen.
Is there anything more homely than your own kitchen?
Knowing what is in each cupboard or drawer, before you even open it.
A spatula would have to be searched for in a strange kitchen.
You'd hunt high and low for the rolling pin.
But at home in comfort, you could find a colander in a jiffy.
A cheese grater in a heartbeat.
So for me, home is where the easily found mixing bowl is.

The Bringer of Life

The receptacle for the transit of food and water was once a sustainer of life.
The bucket, from well to home.
The basket, from field to table.
Now they have two roles to play.
The bag for the groceries.
The bottle for the water.
Once they have finished bringing life to us, they'll take life from others.

Population

There are roughly three times as many people in the world today than there were when I was born.
If I'm blessed enough to have kids, then of course, I worry about things like that.
How many people will there be when they are 35?
I think the solution is for my wife and I to give birth to a Nobel winning scientist.
Either that...........or a workaholic assassin.

Happiness

We're all striving for happiness.
But what do we call people who are eternally smiling?
Mad.
So, we're all striving for madness.
And as with happiness, some of us have more work to do than others.

Dilution

The intensity of youth dilutes with age.
The young boy who dreamed of being an airline pilot settles for life as an office worker.
I wonder whether those who realise childhood dreams constantly fear the loss of their chosen path?
While those who had it diluted, are able to dream for the rest of their lives?

Evolution

Over the last few million years we've slowly adapted to our surroundings.
Survival of the fittest.
However, we are now able to adapt our surroundings to fit us.
Evolution is no more.
Why grow gills when we have scuba gear?
Why grow stronger when we have guns?
Evolution was patience.
Which is something we no longer have.
